Do we need to book in advance?

Footloose is happy to accommodate last-minute bookings with at least 3 hours’ notice before one of our scheduled sail times (11:00, 1:30, 4:00, or our 6:30 sunset sail). For the smoothest experience, we recommend booking online or giving us a call at 231-735-3179 with any questions!

Can we bring food and drinks on board?

We encourage it! If you can, please try not to bring glass, but wine bottles are okay.

What do I need to bring?

For a comfortable and great time while sailing we suggest bringing a few creature comforts: a pair of sunglasses, sunscreen, a camera, and beach towels if you have them, we will try to have a few extra on board.

What Should I wear?

We want you to be comfortable out on the water! In the summer months dress in light layers as it tends to be a bit chillier on the water than on land. Bring an extra jacket and consider packing a hat if you tend to get chilly. We have light blankets on board if you need a little extra warmth. We prefer if you are barefoot on the boat but if you are more comfortable in shoes, clean soft-soled, non-slip shoes work the best on deck. In the summer months don’t forget to pack a swimsuit!

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens—we totally get it. If you need to cancel your charter, we offer a full refund with at least 72 hours' notice before your scheduled sail. We're also happy to help you reschedule for a time that works better for you. If the weather doesn’t cooperate and it’s not safe to sail, we’ll do our best to find another time for your trip or provide a refund if rescheduling isn’t an option.

Should I tip the Captain?

Tipping is customary and very much appreciated! While 20% gratuity is the average amount, tips should be entirely based on your satisfaction while sailing.

Are pets welcome?

At this time we are not accepting pets on the vessel.

Where is the boat docked and where do I park?

Footloose is parked in the Elmwood Township Marina 13051 S W Bay Shore Dr, Traverse City, MI 49684. This address will bring you right to the parking lot and the Captain will give you a parking pass to put on your car. Call us at 231-735-3179 if you need directions or have any questions.

Safety and Liability Waiver

Upon your arrival to Footloose, the Captain will review the safety protocols. A liability waiver will be sent out to your email before the scheduled sail.
